Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank is to provide household goods, furniture, appliances, clothing, toys, books, games and food, free of charge, to the homeless and others in need who demonstrate the desire to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient. When the homeless make the transition from a shelter to a residence, they arrive with nothing. Stripped of the essentials of a home - the chairs, tables, dishes, bedding, lamps, and rugs - homelife for the homeless becomes minimal . To bring renewed life into these homes, the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank brings in the material goods, the basic life necessities, to help the homeless regain dignity and self-worth. With dignity and self-worth, independence can be pursued, lives can be rebuilt, families restored.
There are 26 similar organizations in the country that help provide furnishings and household goods to the needy at no charge. They also provide individual replacement items, such as appliances, for the elderly and cancer patients.
Chair by chair, plate by plate, light by light, the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank is helping rebuild the disrupted, often shattered, lives of the homeless and others who have lost everything.
